Locally sourced and salvaged wood that we mill and dry ourselves is a focal point in the materials we prefer to use.
Trees removed by arborists and local tree care services many times are used for firewood or simply let to rot as it is often a by-product of the service arborists provide. However much of this wood can be salvaged and repurposed for lumber. By salvaging lumber from logs otherwise burned or left to decay, it captures carbon within the wood and also adds to the story of the woodworking piece, when we can tell a story of the tree it came from as well.

Working with natural wood also means accepting that each board has its own characteristics. Rather than expecting every piece to look identical, we appreciate the grain, colour variation, and distinctive details that make solid wood unique.
