What Does Tree to Table Mean?
Tree to table describes the journey of wood from its original source to a finished piece of furniture or woodworking. Rather than purchasing commercially processed lumber, tree-to-table woodworking gives you the opportunity to use locally sourced logs, including trees from your own property, and follow their transformation into something useful and lasting.
At PEC Wood Co., we combine custom sawmilling, lumber drying, thoughtful design, and skilled woodworking to make the most of each log. Whether your goal is a solid wood dining table, a live-edge coffee table, shelving, benches, or another custom project, we work with the natural qualities of the wood to create a piece that reflects your vision.
Every log is different. Grain patterns, colours, knots, and natural edges all contribute to the character of the finished product. Our approach is to work with those characteristics, making each project one of a kind.

Sustainability Through Thoughtful Wood Use
Sustainability is an important part of the tree-to-table approach. By working with locally available logs and making thoughtful use of each piece, we can help extend the useful life of wood that might otherwise be chipped, discarded, or underutilized.

Whenever practical, we look for ways to make use of more than just the most visually striking boards. Different grades and dimensions may be suitable for different applications, helping reduce unnecessary waste and make better use of the available material.
