What is Custom Sawmilling?
Custom sawmilling is the process of cutting logs into lumber according to your requirements rather than purchasing standard-sized boards from a lumberyard.
Every log is different. Species, diameter, length, grain, knots, and natural defects all influence how a log can best be milled. Custom sawmilling allows these characteristics to be considered when determining board thickness, width, length, and the best use for the available timber.
Instead of treating every log the same, we look at the wood in front of us and consider how to get the most useful lumber from it.
The result is lumber with its own natural character, ready for woodworking, construction applications, furniture making, or other projects suited to the species and grade of the material.
